Invisible eyeglasses, translucent chairs, and futuristic printers. In addition to their visionary use of materials and ambitious concepts, these intriguing works of design have something else in common: their creators, hailing from all corners of the globe, have all won the Rado Star Prize. Rado Star Prize México

Currently crowned the World Design Capital, Mexico City plays host to the first edition of Rado Star Prize México. An international design competition that promotes the work of young designers, offering them a platform to show their work to experts in the field and the general public alike. The inaugural Rado Star Prize México 2018 will take place during the 10th edition of Design Week Mexico.

Rado Star Prize Spain

Rado will be Official Sponsor of Madrid Design Festival and will launch the first edition of the Rado Star Prize Spain. The competition will invite young designers to present projects that explore the relationship between design and time. The top ten projects will be shown in an exhibition during Madrid Design Festival.

Rado Star Prize US

NYCxDESIGN is New York City’s official celebration of global design, and as the official watch sponsor of the event, Rado, along with WantedDesign, provides a platform that best supports the brand's longstanding tradition of promoting young talent through the Rado Star Prize. Past design briefs have included “Design is our DNA: Items for Everyday Life” and "A Lighter Way of Living".

Rado Star Prize Italy

First held in 2016, the Rado Star Prize Italy is run in conjunction with the prestigious Istituto Marangoni School of Design and School of Fashion in Milan. Students in the school's Interior, Industrial or Fashion Design departments are invited to accept design challenges such as creating innovative objects for the consumer of the future or developing new product ideas with lightweight materials.

Rado Star Prize UK

Following the success of the first edition last year, Rado is partnering again with designjunction to launch 2018’s competition. Focusing on the topical concept of connection and disconnection to and from your environment, this year’s theme is ‘On Time / Time Off’. Entries are welcome from young British designers from the fields of interior, industrial, product and technology design. The 10 shortlisted finalists will be exhibited on the Rado stand during designjunction, where the Judges’ Winner will be announced and is also open for the Public to vote for their winner.

Rado Star Prize France

The Rado Star Prize France is an annual young designers’ competition that has been held since 2012. It consists of two awards: a jury prize and a prize selected by the public via online voting. All finalists take part in an exhibition of innovative design projects held in conjunction with Paris Design Week.

Rado Star Prize Austria

The Rado Star Prize Austria is a biennial design competition. From January through August, talented designers exhibit their works in the window of the Rado boutique in Vienna. The winner receives the chance to exhibit their works at the Rado boutique during Vienna Design Week.

Rado Star Prize Switzerland

Rado is a proud partner of Design Prize Switzerland, a wide-ranging Swiss design competition that is held every other year. Rado sponsors the category entitled Rado Star Prize Switzerland for Young Talents, which honours innovative, individually designed or produced projects or products.

Rado Star Prize Taiwan

First held in 2016, The Rado Star Prize Taiwan is a biennial design competition and aims to provides a platform that best supports the brand's longstanding tradition of promoting young talent through the Rado Star Prize. The second Taiwanese edition of the Rado Star Prize 2018 will focus on the concept of “Design Inspired by Nature”- a theme that hopes to explore the influence nature can have on design.

Rado Star Prize Hong Kong

The Rado Star Prize will collaborate with HK Trade Development Council- DesignInspire, the international exhibition about creativity. The theme is ‘Design Inspired by Nature’. Rado aims to promote up-and-coming HK designers, giving them a platform to show their work. All shortlisted finalists will be exhibited on the Rado Pavilion during DesignInspire from December 6-8, where the Judges’ Winner will be announced and is also open for the Public to vote for the Public’s Choice Winner.
