The Rado Star Prize Switzerland is an established design competition that is held in cooperation with Design Prize Switzerland. The prize is Rado's way of supporting rising young designers from diverse disciplines and offering them a platform for their creative work.

Rado is proud to announce that the Rado Star Prize Switzerland for Young Talents will once again be part of Design Prize Switzerland in 2017. This special prize category, which  became part of the Design Prize Switzerland for the first time in 2015, is aimed at talented designers of the younger generation. Held every two years, Design Prize Switzerland has been promoting Swiss design as an economic factor of cultural relevance to society since its founding in 1991. The competition has now opened the call for entries for all categories of its 2017 edition, including the Rado Star Prize Switzerland for Young Talents. A futuristic printer has been named the winning project of the Rado Star Prize Switzerland for Young Talents. Mugi Yamamoto wowed the international jury at Design Prize Switzerland with “Stack”, a compact, minimalistic printer that has been hailed as a groundbreaking product idea. The young designer was presented with prize money as well as a Rado DiaMaster Grand Seconde at the award ceremony in Langental, Switzerland.
