RADO STAR PRIZE ITALY 2017

Rado has launched the second Italian edition of the Rado Star Prize, an international competition promoting the work of young designers. This competition in Italy is open to students of Istituto Marangoni School of Design and School of Fashion, and entrants have been encouraged to investigate innovative solutions in the use of materials. This reflects Rado’s heritage as a trailblazer in materials technology and visionary research and design.

COMPETITION THEME

The theme of the competition is “2117 – The world of fashion and design in 100 years”. Entrants are asked to imagine a product in their field of design, and imagine developing it for the market in the year of 2117. The design should be innovative, pioneering, creative and solution orientated.

 

MEET THE JURY

The jury of the Rado Star Prize Italy 2017 will be chaired by designer Giulio Cappellini and includes Rado VP Product Management Hakim El Kadiri, trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort, renowned journalist editor-in-chief Livia Peraldo, and Istituto Marangoni Director of Education Paolo Meroni.
