RADO STAR PRIZE UK 2019

Rado is delighted to announce the 2019 Rado Star Prize UK.
Working in partnership with designjunction, Rado is looking for the next generation of British design talent and the shortlist of ten designers will be exhibited on the Rado stand at designjunction in September. In addition to the Judge’s Winner, the public will be able to vote for their favourite project too.

RE:IMAGINE

For its third edition of the Rado Star Prize UK, Rado is seeking the next generation of young designers, inviting them to respond to the theme ‘RE:IMAGINE’. The theme explores different ways design can improve life: by evolving existing product forms through materials, function, technology, end use or even, re-use. Rado is searching for innovative, cutting-edge design pieces that relate to the concept of ‘Re:Imagine. Products will be considered from the fields of interior, product, industrial and technology design.

The Judges’ Winner prize was awarded to David Knowles who impressed the judges with his entry “GC18”. Inspired by the stunning natural beauty, grandeur and mystique of the Giant’s Causeway, GC18 is a coffee table that responds to the landscape’s aesthetic elements.
The winner of the Public Vote was Martina Taranto with “The Limescale Project”. This project is about new production methods and rethinking industrialisation.
