TaiChi is one of the most meaningful Chinese cultural thoughts, which represents optimal balance and a deep state of fulfillment.
MOCHI brings this Tai Chi philosophy into its design concept and uses the chair, the most intimate furniture to daily life, as a symbol to redefine the relationship between people in life.
In the pursuit of completeness and balance in life, it has also created a barrier between people. The curved seat symbolizes Yin and Yang and implies different ways of using, that expresses the two are opposite, while also reconciling with each other.
Even if sitting on the same chair, they still have their own space because of the height difference. At the same time, it is a metaphor in the relationship of life. Although people are close, they are separated by a wall which is called indifference.
