Louisa Köber gewinnt mit „Sandscape“ den Rado Star Prize Austria 2015

 


Die Installation „Sandscape“ dokumentierte den Entstehungsprozess einer Sandlandschaft während des Zeitraums der Ausstellung. Ähnlich den Sanduhren, waren nach unten geöffnete Glaszylinder nebeneinander installiert, aus denen in unterschiedlicher Geschwindigkeit und Menge Sand herausrieselte. Das Ergebnis war irreversibel, einmalig und vergänglich.

Die Jury bestehend aus Lilli Hollein (Direktorin Vienna Design Week), Antoinette Bader (Siegerin des Rado Star Prize Austria 2013) und Peter Gauss (Rado Österreich Brandmanager) wählte die junge Wiener Designerin mit ihrem Projekt zur Gewinnerin und begründete ihre Entscheidung folgendermaßen:

Lilli Hollein, Direktorin Vienna Design Week:
„Titel und Werk entfalten in ihrer Einheit eine besondere Stärke. Louisa Köber hat unter Beweis gestellt, dass sie eine junge Designerin ist, die nicht nur bereit, sondern auch fähig ist, sich mit der Markenwelt auseinander zu setzen und sich dabei eine Eigenständigkeit zu bewahren. ‚Sandscape‘ beinhaltet eine Brise Poesie, einen philosophischen Zugang und setzt auch einen ganz starken, visuellen Impuls.“

Antoinette Bader, Siegerin des Rado Star Prize Austria 2013:
„‚Sandscape‘ ist ein sehr schönes und feinfühliges Konzept – der Titel und die Landschaft ergeben ein harmonisches Sinnbild.“

Peter Gauss, Rado Österreich Brandmanager:
„Louisa Köber ist eine junge, aufstrebende Künstlerin, die ihre eigene Interpretation von Zeit sehr stimmig umgesetzt hat und dabei noch zum Denken anregt. Die Vorstellung, dass Zeit wie Sand verrinnt und sich nicht umkehren lässt, wurde mit der Installation ‚Sandscape‘ sehr treffend visualisiert.“
