The ‘Bamboo Lamp’ is made by upcycling bamboo collected from sites around Tuen Mun. The main body of the lamp imitates the natural shape and characteristics of bamboo. Cement and resin are used as the base to create an industrial, architectural style. In daily life, bamboo is often discarded when mostly intact or slightly damaged, which is extremely wasteful. With the lamp, the designer hopes users can appreciate the beauty of bamboo while remembering its importance to the local construction industry.
