Hakim El Kadiri has been responsible for product development at Rado since 2011. His technical and marketing background and passion for the beautiful things in life, such as design, art and photography, inspired him to join the watchmaking industry. For Hakim, watchmaking is a field where the creation of beauty is ever present, merging innovation, design and technology.
Bethan Gray’s ancestors journeyed across continents - Bethan has since visited many of the places they passed through, inspired by a love of travel, art and culture. Today, her mission is to bring contemporary relevance to cultural narratives and traditional crafts. This approach, paired with her instinctive use of natural materials, a sensitive colour palette and bold graphic pattern, has resulted in Elle Decoration naming her ‘Best British Designer.’ Today her collections are sold, written about and exhibited all over the world.
Head of Design (Home), John Lewis
Philippa heads up the Design Studio at John Lewis, and creatively directs on all aspects of homewares. Her mission is to inspire customers with collections that have a point of view and an element of surprise. Pip has worked in the home design industry for over 10 years, working for Habitat before she joined John Lewis in 2011 as a Senior Designer.
Philippa loves travel, particularly to South Africa, where strong family ties take her beyond the tourist trail and to India which she has been fortunate to visit many times. Inspiration for Pip can come from anywhere including London’s East End where Pip lives, ‘It is one of the most inspiring places to be right now and I feel lucky to be part of such a vibrant and creative hub’.
Katie is the co-founder and co-president of Arts Thread, the world's leading new creatives’ network, and the launchpad for the next generation of creative talent. Over the last 8 years Arts Thread has helped well over a thousand new creatives launch their own brands and gain employment worldwide. Arts Thread has built relationships with over 800 design schools to gain access to well over 300,000 students, undergraduates & graduates in all creative disciplines such as fashion, textiles, digital, illustration, print, interior, product, jewelry, fine art etc.
Will has been working in design and the creative industries for more than twelve years. As Event Director of designjunction, he has managed six editions of the cutting-edge design show in London, New York and Milan. Over his career Will has instigated over 30 design shows in 15 countries, including launching Tom Dixon’s critically acclaimed MOST event in Milan, and running the British Council’s touring design and architecture exhibition programme. His work has also involved initiatives supporting design education; art; fashion; and property development.
